School fundraising and how it is used

I thought it would be good to show you all how we've raised funds for the school in the past and where the monies have been spent, as it's due to the generosity of parents, family, friends and the public that our pupils are able to benefit greatly.

The Family Fun Night held in September 2016 raised a fantastic amount (approx £1600) which was used for a whole school trip to the Glasgow Transport Museum and the Kelpies in the summer of 2017.  Coaches alone for this trip cost £850, so you can see it is so important for us to raise funds.

In 2016/2017, the majority of PTP funds were spent on purchasing lots of classroom reading books, school monogrammed hoodies for our sports teams to wear at school events, K'Nex kits for the whole school to use, contributions towards school trips and outings and as always, providing food and prizes for school events.

So far in the 2017/2018 school year, we have purchased more games for Maths Club, leaving gifts for PTP members that retired and we are part-funding the school trip to the panto.

We will find out at our next meeting on Thursday 18th January what funds the staff are requesting and their wish list for next year.

This list will grow as the year goes on, every penny raised goes back to the school so that our children can benefit from it!

I'd also like to remind you about the Easy Fundraising scheme.  If you shop online, you can support the school simply by registering on easyfundraising.org.uk with Monikie Primary - Angus as your chosen cause.  From this page, you can then be forwarded to thousands of different online stores and when you shop as normal, a percentage will be donated by that company to the school.  It's so easy and you can ask anyone to use it, the more the better!

Many thanks to all that help with fundraising and for donations to the school, we are extremely grateful!
